Dr. Jennifer Tan comes from a family of orthodontists and a long line of medical professionals, in which hard work and dedication are integral values. Coming from the small town of Miramichi, New Brunswick, strong community involvement continues to be important to her. Dr. Tan supports multiple local sports teams, school events, as well as local hospitals and national charities. She has volunteered her time for the Ontario Dental Association, Ottawa Dental Society, and dental study clubs.
Dr. Jessica Tan was the first female orthodontist to practice in the Ottawa area and has been practicing here since 1996. She established her orthodontic practice in Stittsville in 2003. She currently serves on the dental faculty for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, providing orthodontic care for children and adolescents with cleft lip and palate and complex craniofacial abnormalities.
Dr. Tan was born and raised in Miramichi, New Brunswick. She comes from a family of health care providers including several orthodontists and physicians. She is passionate about making positive changes in people’s lives through changing their smiles. The resulting changes in their health and happiness ultimately improves their overall well-being. Dr. Tan welcomes new patients, and she looks forward to meeting you.
After studying Biomedical sciences at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Carolyne Thain transferred to the University of Montreal’s Dentistry program. She graduated as a dentist in 2010, finishing first in her class and winning the top academic award. Dr. Thain developed her interest in orthodontics during a research placement at the Sainte-Justine Children’s Hospital where she learned of the orthodontic specialty program at Jacksonville University in Florida.
